312321 - Skateboarding Classes by NEST

NEST’s experienced skateboarders will provide one hour, age appropriate, skateboarding lessons, while maintaining a fun atmosphere. The art of skateboarding develops muscles, balance and coordination through continued movement and can be done as safely as riding a bike. Your child’s skateboarding experience will consist of: 1) learning skateboarding skills and tricks and building on those skills; 2) skate-a-long time with our experienced skaters who will provide mentoring and motivation; 3) supervised free skate time with other children. We maintain a ratio of 1 instructor to 6 participants or less. In the event of inclement weather classes will not be canceled. We would go to the pavilion and use our portable equipment along with showing skateboard videos. It is recommended participants bring their own helmet & skateboard. Many children feel more secure with knee pads & elbow pads.

    322508 - Kickball - Coed - Entering Grades 3 or 4 Fall 2019

The Appleton Parks and Recreation Department (APRD) will place the individual players onto teams using the school attended and grade as the first grouping criteria Please register according to the grade your child will be in during the 2019 - 2020 school year.

VOLUNTEER COACHES: Our sports programs rely on great volunteer coaches, and coaching is a rewarding way to positively impact the lives of our young athletes. We provide comprehensive training and lesson materials which will enable all of our volunteers to be successful, so if you have the skill and confidence to lead and encourage kids, then you already have what it takes to be a great coach!
Coaches are expected to facilitate a weekly practice, attend scheduled weekly games, and coordinate the delivery of team / league information to players and parents on their roster. In the absence of an adequate number of head coaches, assistant coach volunteers may be asked to assume the head coach role.

Parents and children will be required to co-sign a concussion information acknowledgment prior to the start of team activities. This form will be sent to all registered families by email at the end of league registration (late June).

Save $10.00 by registering during the Early Bird Registration Period: March 7 - June 4.
