    412106 - Ballet/Pointe - Fall

Ballet: The foundation of all dance forms and essential for reaching one's fullest potential as a dancer. Body placement, flexibility, balance, strength and technique are achieved through barre and center floor work. In ballet, students will not only develop grace and poise but the self-discipline needed to excel as a dancer.

Pointe': Secondary to a minimum of five consecutive years of Ballet Class with a minimum of one year of technique class. Core strength and ankle strength worked on each class. Absenteeism must be kept to a minimum because of the technicality of this dance form. We are happy to assist with testing to be sure this is the appropriate class for your dancer by evaluating against the criteria.
Attire: A leotard and skirt/shorts or fitted dance attire that is comfortable to move in. Tops such as tanks or fitted tees are acceptable. Bottoms may include shorts (with tights), yoga or jazz capris or leggings. Wearing fitted clothing allows your teacher to be sure you are moving your body in the correct way to prevent injury. It is highly recommended that pointe dancers wear tights with their pointe shoes. Ballet slippers are required. Any style is appropriate so long as they are ballet pink (not white or black.)

All students will be participating in an end of season recital, dates TBD. Participants should anticipate an additional cost for costumes (Beginner costume cost - $47.25, Intermediate costume cost - $57.75, Advanced costume cost - $68.25) Costume payments will be due by September 30th.

Class dates are subject to change based on recital dates and location.

Save $10.00 - Register by 8/14/19. Registrations received on or after August 15 will require an additional $10 fee. Final deadline for all registration is September 18!

    412114 - Modern - Fall

Modern dance encourages a dancer's own interpretations rather than a structured routine like traditional ballet dancing. The modern dance style favors abstract dance movements that express the dancer's innermost feelings. If you love to dance and enjoy interpreting the music into abstract dance form, then come check out our new Modern Dance class.
Attire: A leotard and skirt/shorts or fitted dance attire that is comfortable to move in. Tops such as tanks or fitted tees are acceptable. 412321 - Skateboarding Classes by NEST

NEST’s experienced skateboarders will provide one hour, age appropriate, skateboarding lessons, while maintaining a fun atmosphere. The art of skateboarding develops muscles, balance and coordination through continued movement and can be done as safely as riding a bike. Your child’s skateboarding experience will consist of: 1) learning skateboarding skills and tricks and building on those skills; 2) skate-a-long time with our experienced skaters who will provide mentoring and motivation; 3) supervised free skate time with other children. We maintain a ratio of 1 instructor to 6 participants or less. In the event of inclement weather classes will not be canceled. We would go to the pavilion and use our portable equipment along with showing skateboard videos. It is recommended participants bring their own helmet & skateboard. Many children feel more secure with knee pads & elbow pads.

422300 - Soccer - Youth Fall Leagues - Register according to child's fall grade during 2019/2020 school year

Waitlist Registration : Registration ended 7/29 but you can sign up now to be on a league waitlist. If openings occur, we will contact the waitlisted children to fill open spots. Waitlisted children who fill an open spot on a league are not guaranteed to be placed with the school of your choice.

The APRD is committed to providing a quality youth sports experience for participants, parents, coaches and spectators. All of our youth sports leagues focus on the development of skills, sportsmanship and fun! We operate on an equal playing time philosophy for all our participants.
Soccer games are played on Saturdays at locations in Appleton. Game times vary.
Our sports programs encourage parent involvement and utilize volunteer coaches. Coaches are required to pass a criminal background investigation and attend a department-sponsored coaches training. The coaches training program places an emphasis on sportsmanship, safety and viewing the coach as a role model along with the proper ways to teach skills to the athletes. If you are interested in coaching, complete the Parent/Guardian coaching section of the Individual Player form or check "yes" to the question when registering online.

Parents and children will be required to co-sign a concussion information acknowledgement prior to the start of team activities. This form will be sent to all registered families by email at the end of league registration (late August).

    Game dates: Saturdays, September 07 - October 19, 2019
Practices: Practices begin in late-August, and are scheduled by APRD and the volunteer coach at a local park for one hour each week.
